Two Door Cinema Club - 'Sure Enough'
Indie legends Two Door Cinema Club return with ‘Sure Enough’, an anthemic number that accompanies news of an upcoming US tour.
The group have become a household name in the indie world with an abundance of huge tracks and albums under their belt. Despite having such an impressive arsenal behind them, they show no signs of stopping just yet. Yet again, they have produced a track brimming with quality.
‘Sure Enough’ kicks off a new era for the outfit which, as ever with TDCC, promises to be exciting and full of great tracks.
The track itself reinforces what we already know about the group: they are able to execute perfectly a range of sounds in one track. This one begins with electronic sounds driven by synths, before it erupts into a frenzy of indie technicolour. Front man Alex Trimble treats fans to a classic vocal performance, where he guides ears through a truly brilliant track. His already known vocal brilliance is showcased in ‘Sure Enough’, particularly during the climactic moments of the song. As usual, the rest of TDCC compliment their lead singers’ talents with their own. Each individual section makes for a carefully crafted, crowd-moving masterpiece.
Sam Halliday adds his stamp to the track with his ever-recognisable guitar sections that transcend the choruses. The rhythm section adds to this, with the bass of Kevin Baird being extremely noticeable. Having been a group for such a length of time, it really is no wonder that TDCC have nailed this track. It oozes confidence and is the perfect number to accompany news of a tour.
When speaking on ‘Sure Enough’, the group stated “Comfort, safety and security are all easy to come by. All you must do is accept the lie.” This stark outlook is, like the track, extremely powerful. They aren’t shying away from the realities of life. This is reflected in ‘Sure Enough’, where Two Door Cinema Club take on their emotions head on. This plunge into the pool of emotions that is life can be felt particularly in the quick transition from the first verse to the opening chorus. The track goes from slow and steady to a burst of musical pace, very much reflective of how life can be.
Accompanying the latest single is a huge tour announcement, that will see the group take to the United States and beyond, after a handful of UK dates.
Fans will hope to hear ‘Sure Enough’ alongside the rest of the band’s celestial tracks at live shows, as it becomes one of countless superb tracks in the back catalogue of Two Door Cinema Club.
