Wicca Phase Springs Eternal – 'My Name is the Endless Night'
Wicca Phase Sprints Eternal expands his eerie and enchanting world with his haunting new single ‘My Name is the Endless Night’.
Wicca Phase Springs Eternal (aka Adam McIlwee) has returned with a captivating new single, ‘My Name is the Endless Night,’ ahead of his upcoming EP Midnight at the Castle Moorlands, set to release on October 25 via Run For Cover Records. Known for his ability to merge the mystical and modern, McIlwee has yet again crafted a song that immerses listeners in a world both eerie and enchanting.
‘My Name is the Endless Night’ offers a rich combination of thumping beats, shimmering synths, and a melancholy that’s quintessentially Wicca Phase Springs Eternal. On this track, McIlwee assumes the role of a “rider in black” or “dark prince on the mountain,” imbuing the song with imagery straight from gothic and supernatural realms. His unique ability to blend the ethereal with the contemporary is on full display here, where rap elements meet a haunting, almost cinematic soundscape.
The track follows previous singles from the EP, each offering something different. ‘Venti Iced Americano’ leaned towards atmospheric vibes, while ‘I Know The Raven’ showcased jangly indie influences. With ‘My Name is the Endless Night,’ McIlwee continues to push his sound, expertly fusing rap, electronic production, and gothic themes.
This new single teases what’s shaping up to be a significant moment for McIlwee. Midnight at the Castle Moorlands marks his first fully self-produced project, recorded with the help of engineer Matt Schimelfenig. McIlwee has taken a more organic, lo-fi approach with this release, pulling back from the maximalism of his self-titled album in favour of something looser and more intimate. The EP promises to be a nuanced exploration of his sound, drawing from ancient imagery and modern beats.
Wicca Phase Springs Eternal fans can catch McIlwee at his upcoming EP release shows in New York and Philadelphia, where the new material is sure to take on a mesmerising life of its own. For listeners drawn to music that exists between worlds - both sonically and thematically – ‘My Name is the Endless Night’ sets the stage for an EP that’s as immersive as it is inventive.
