Jamie Webster - 'Breadline'
Hot off of an incredible performance at Glastonbury, Webster is back with hard hitting new single ‘Breadline’.
The powerful thing about Jamie Webster’s music is that it’s so real, his music reflects very real people, and very real problems, he’s constantly telling stories of love, loss, hope and doubt. His newest offering ‘Breadline’ is no different, the first half of the song is about someone going through a hard time, being out of a job, losing a loved one and living on the breadline. His way with words here is incredible as he describes his old shoes as ‘carrying his pain’, as he walks the streets watching the world go by.
The second verse however, brings a sense of hope; as he sings ‘the tides are turning’ now earning money and looking forward to the future of finding love and living comfortably. It is a well known fact that Webster is a born and raised, proud scouser and it is pure genius how impeccably he manages to capture the pure and raw feeling of Liverpool in his music, it’s almost unexplainable. In fact, it is. When listening to this new single it will instantly make audiences think of the glorious city, whether it’s the beauty and realism of his lyrics or the passion in his vocals. To show his love and appreciation for the city, he recently played his electric ‘In The Park’ show on Friday at Sefton Park, performing in front of a record breaking 40,000 people for Webster.
It just goes to show how many people resonate with his music and message, and I’m sure for any fans - or new listeners, they will find ‘Breadline’ creeping in to be one of their new favorites. Many will be able to hear ‘Breadline’ live very soon as Webster has some tour dates coming up in Europe and Australia near the end of the year.
