Matreya - 'Eagles'
Formerly known as Mason Noise - Birmingham born artist Matreya has just marked his return with e 'Eagles' - an exploration of resilience and transformation.
‘Eagles’ starts a new chapter in the life this artist. Emerging from a period of personal reinvention, Matreya’s single, ‘Eagles’, showcases a voice that resonates with raw emotion and spiritual resilience. Seamlessly weaving together elements of pop, soul, and Afro-world influences, the track pairs honest, poignant lyrics with a performance that highlights his remarkable vocal range, smooth melodic precision, and a falsetto that is as tender as it is powerful. ‘Eagles’ is accompanied by a visually striking music video, filmed in the breathtaking Scottish Highlands. The video’s sweeping drone footage captures verdant hills rising through the mist, a meandering river, and Matreya adorned in flowing robes, embodying the song’s themes of transformation and inner peace.
“‘Eagles’ is a reflection of everything I’ve been through—the grief, the healing, and the lessons I’ve learnt about trusting your path and embracing transformation,” says Matreya. “It’s about finding one’s courage and inner strength through life’s challenges and discovering one’s unique life purpose.”
Richly layered with a cinematic soundscape and uplifting themes of triumph and self-discovery, ‘Eagles’ offers a poignant preview of Matreya’s upcoming debut album, ‘Anchor’, set for release in late 2025. The album promises an intimate and soul-stirring exploration of his journey, exploring themes of love, loss, and renewal with unflinching honesty. January sets the stage for bold new voices, and Matreya leads the charge with an album that redefines resilience and creativity.
