Rise Against - 'I Want It All'
Rise Against release brand new single ‘I Want It All’ along with exciting new album announcement.
Following the release of earlier singles ‘Nod’ and ‘Prizefighter’, Rise Against amp up the excitement for their upcoming album ‘Ricochet’ with their new single ‘I Want It All’.
This new track is a high-energy declaration of self-determinism, unapologetic in its nature and message, and exactly what one would expect from a band that has never shied away from shedding the light on uncomfortable truths. The lyrics in the verses radiate a sense of quiet rebellion what with lines such as “If you lock every door, I will be climbing your fences”. The repetition of the line “Yeah, I want it all” throughout the song feels like a refusal to settle for less and serves as a mantra for those that are desperate for change and tired of settling for less. Sonically, ‘I Want It All’ is classic Rise Against - a burst of punk energy with a bold, soaring hook.
Their upcoming album ‘Ricochet’ marks the band’s first album in four years. ‘Ricochet’ will feature twelve tracks that tackle powerful themes such as the impact our actions have on each other and the crucial examination of the power structures that continue to be upheld in society. Frontman Tim Mcllarth addresses the emotional manipulation of modern media and says that “the algorithm wants our attention so it is designed to make us laugh or cry, but mostly it wants us to be angry, because that is how it spreads the furthest”. These are all topics that will be explored on the band’s upcoming album, scheduled for release on August 15th 2025.
Beyond the studio, Rise Against have been making big strides on the live music scene, having already toured across three continents this year. The band is getting ready for a EU/UK tour and festival headliner run this summer, followed by Vans Warped Tour and countless arena and amphitheatre shows across the US.
