Twenty One Pilots - 'The Contract'
Alternative music legends Twenty One Pilots announce new album Breach, and release first single ‘The Contract’.
GRAMMY-winning and record-breaking duo Twenty One Pilots have announced their highly anticipated seventh studio album Breach, set for release in September 2025 via Fueled By Ramen. The album’s first single ‘The Contract’ is going to be released on June 12th of this year, and will continue the story that the duo have been telling on their previous album Clancy. Staying true to their signature style of fan-driven storytelling and alternate-universe lore, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun revealed the new track over the course of several days through a series of cryptic clues on social media.
As a longtime fan, Twenty One Pilots have always held a special place in my life. I’ve been keeping up with the band closely since 2015, and have seen them live multiple times – most recently on The Clancy World Tour, which wrapped up earlier this month after playing to over 1.1 million fans worldwide. The tour followed their 2024 album Clancy, which sold 143k copies in its first week in the US and surpassed 1 billion global streams to date.
The announcement of Breach comes just as the band celebrated 10 years of Blurryface – their iconic 2015 album featuring worldwide hits ‘Stressed Out’ and ‘Ride’ that catapulted the duo into the global spotlight. Most recently, Blurryface track ‘Doubt’ has gone viral on social media, with a demo version generating over 1.8 billion views.
With Breach, Twenty One Pilots appear determined to once again reshape the alternative music scene. Serving as the concluding chapter in the story that the duo has been telling across their past few albums, this album promises to bring a long-awaited resolution to the conceptual world that the band has built. Fans should keep their eyes peeled and their decoding skills sharp in the weeks to come – I know I will!
