BLACK FONDU returns with another treat for the underground scene and beyond.
London-based genre-defining and multi-talented craftsman BLACK FONDU has come back to deliver a new track, ‘im not sleeping’, to the ever-expanding and melancholic universe of his discography. This fresh blend of Hyper-pop, punk, and noise-based music is a poetic kick in the teeth reminiscent of mid-2010s tracks by artists such as Lil Peep and Lil Tracy. BLACK FONDU’s magic lies not only in his deep-cut lyricism and gut-wrenching production but also in his DIY approach to music. I love seeing artists carve their own path without handouts, as it reflects the raw emotion and gritty reality of song writing.
The track opens with an emphatic display of charm and a beautiful wall of sound that immediately draws the listener into the world they’re about to enter. The self-production of these tracks shines through in every moment, revealing the passion and effort poured into each note and harmony. With expertly layered elements and 808 tracking, BLACK FONDU crafts a sound that pulls you into the void. In the closing moments, ‘im not sleeping’ introduces a dimensional shift that drags you back to reality with raw, soul-crushing vocals, perfectly conveying every ounce of emotion poured into the track.

The accolades continue, as BLACK FONDU has toured with notable bands including Shame (who are currently on their way to stardom themselves) and the effervescent kings of the slugs, Fat Dog.
