Fast-rising artist, Oh! Alfie, continues his strong run of form with another stellar single: ‘WE DIDN’T TALK!’
The singer-songwriter has recently gained a great deal of interest following his debut single ‘HIGH!’, a track that well and truly let the world know that he had arrived.
Coming from the musical powerhouse that is Liverpool, Alfie has been surrounded by vast amounts of music, and it’s clear that he’s truly in love with the scene. His passion for the craft was evident in his debut single, which is perhaps why it has left listeners wanting more.
The 21-year-old’s latest piece of work, ‘WE DIDN’T TALK!’, shows off all of his strengths.
Kicking off with a wowing vocal display, Oh! Alfie opens the new single and wastes no time. From the off, he takes listeners with him on a journey of heartache with some beautiful lyricism, which is delivered with the truest conviction.
Despite hailing from Liverpool, Alfie has spent a great deal of time living in America, and so was exposed to a musical culture which differs to that of his home city. This variety has clearly benefitted the talented artist, as he has absorbed a range of incredible musical features.
One example of Alfie taking in musical influences from all over, which can be heard in the latest single, is the electronic instrumental backing to the track. The dreamy synths and commanding basslines really give Alfie the platform to showcase his combination of expert lyricism and brutally emotive vocal delivery.
As highlighted by the artist himself, the track is made for having the windows down, screaming the chorus. The chorus in question is so raw and honest that it will resonate with all who hear it.
Oh! Alfie belts out the words: “We didn’t talk last night, must have been something I said, or the signal in London”. Alfie tells a tale of heartache and the difficulties that can come with long distance relationships, yet he does it with a swagger as he delivers an anthem of a track.
Oh! Alfie is gaining attention from all angles and is sure to be a name that we see more and more going forward. With two brilliant tracks behind him already, listeners will wait excitedly for his next move.
