Festival Preview: Green Man 2026

Wales’ largest independent festival, Greenman, is set to return to the breath-taking Brecon Beacons National Park between the 20th and 23rd of August. It’s a festival full of music, comedy, science, and art, and having just announced an absolutely stacked lineup for 2026, there is no doubt that this is the festival everyone will want to be at.

Scottish post-rock legends Mogwai will be starting off the weekend shenanigans by topping the bill on Thursday night, with Wilco closing out the main stage on Friday. However, things really kick into gear on Friday, with the likes of Baxter Dury, Dry Cleaning, Shame and Tyler Ballgame all playing across the many stages.

Ones to watch on the Friday will be everyone’s favourite duo, Getdown Services, Madra Salach, an up-and-coming (and absolutely incredible) Irish band putting their own twist on traditional music, dance-rock band Adult DVD, who are a guaranteed good time and of course, Irish punk band, Sprints

Four Tet, who is known for his spectacular live shows, is set to headline the main stage on Saturday night, but there’s a long list of unbelievable acts playing earlier in the day to get people warmed up. The likes of Mannequin Pussy, Daniel Avery, Cate Le Bon, Horsegirl and A Place To Bury Strangers are all a part of the Saturday line-up.

London band and recent Brit award winners, Wolf Alice will be closing out the main stage on Sunday, and as it’s their first time headlining the festival, there’s no doubt it’ll be a special performance. Particular acts to watch on Sunday include Panic Shack, Dove Ellis, Fcukers and Everything Is Recorded

While the festival is jam-packed with incredible music, there’s also much more to Greenman: from Einstein’s Garden to workshops and wellness activities, there is something for everyone. They also have The Settlement, which allows people to come to Greenman on the Monday before the main festival starts, turning the weekend into a week-long Welsh camping adventure.

While Greenman has always been known as an amazing festival, it’s safe to say that their 2026 run will not disappoint and will fill the Glastonbury-shaped hole in many a festival-goer’s heart.
