Royal Blood - Ten Over Ten'

Royal Blood's in-your-face sound takes to a whole new height with a booming and coarse new single ’Ten Over Ten’, perfectly teeing up an all-new album and era for the band.

Royal blood have been a monolith of modern rock and roll ever since their iconic first album back in 2014 and as their creative influences have grown so has their fanbase and after the brilliant reception of their 2023 album ‘Back to the Water Below’ they have taken some time away and returned to the roots of what makes their sound so dynamic, a growling and irresistible lead bass line masterfully crafted atop of Ben Thatcher's whiplash inducing drum tracking, mixing blinding blast beats and intrusive halftime thrashes, this track speaks to everything that Royal blood have built their career on, infinitely digestible and brutal riffs coupled with some of the coolest drumming around today.

‘Ten Over Ten’ is a perfect return to the early years of the band’s catalogue and sets this album up to be an all-timer; Ben and Mark have curated the perfect sound for their two-piece rock and roll masterclass, and to see this sound continue to evolve while remaining rooted in their musical brilliance speaks to their brilliance. Whether it be through a pair of headphones or an arena sound system, this band create a furious level of noise and an unforgettable experience every time they grace their instruments, and to see them still hammering away at making modern rock classics is mesmerising. If they can continue to create infectious and acute riffs the way they have for over a decade, they will no doubt ascend to legend status soon.

With the single came the announcement of a brand new album for the Brighton two-piece and we can only hope that their previous slates of relentless touring take shape for an all new globe-trotting adventure of causing chaos in the middle of venues and displaying their true mastery of songwriting, every element of this band is intricately designed and perfectly executed from the riffs to the drums to the otherworldly vocals and their fanbase and they heavy music fans at large can only hope that they bring their raring live shows back across our little island to tour the wheels off of this new project.
