L.A. Witch – ‘Haunting’
L.A. Witch continue the Halloween celebrations with their new single ‘Haunting’.
L.A. Witch might possibly be the coolest band around at the moment. The trio create psychedelic garage grunge punk that just oozes cool. And their new single ‘Haunting’ doesn’t disappoint.
The opening of ‘Haunting’ stays true to its title. The fade in of a drum beat soaked in reverb is industrial in nature, but the addition of the high-pitched screeching noises in the background that sound like tortured lost souls do make it truly haunting. The ringing guitars swagger through the speakers as if they wear sunglasses after dark, and the vocals shimmer through like the distant howl of a coyote.
This is goth rock without the gloom; Easy Rider, but with vampires. L.A. Witch create music that struts with the attitude of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the psychedelic garage rock of The 13th Floor Elevators. What more could you possibly want?
