Saytr Play - 'Bang Average'
Manchester indie rock band Saytr Play follow up their catchy single, ‘Fragile’, with captivating new track, ‘Bang Average’, showing off a mixture of tight harmonies and huge charisma.
Many great bands have come out of Manchester and over the past few years Saytr Play have been proving that’s not about to stop anytime soon. New single, ‘Bang Average’ is produced by the Courteeners Bass player and long-time collaborator Joe Cross and will be released on Joe’s label ‘Lovers Music’. ‘Bang Average’ is a youthful song about a boy who falls in love with someone off limits. The song also touches on how we can sometimes feel insecure because of other people’s opinions of us.
Frontman Fred Farrell has such a magnificent voice which has shades of The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas but it’s the band’s combined energy which really takes the song to the next level. Lyrically the song is very relatable and fits the melody really well,. Everything about this song seems to fall nicely into place. In terms of hooky indie rock songs, ‘Bang Avenue’ doesn’t really have any weaknesses and it just gets better every time you listen to it. Exciting times ahead from another great band representing Manchester.
