BOBBi - 'Calling Out' (feat. Hannie)

London based pop artist BOBBi stands up to racism in collaboration with Love Music Hate Racism on her emotionally charged debut single, ‘Calling Out’ feat Hannie.

’Calling Out’ is the collaborative effort of BOBBi, Hannie and co-writers KALM and Molly Rainford who were asked to write a song for Hollyoaks in conjunction with the soaps British far-right extremism storyline, which reached incredibly emotional and explosive heights aired on Channel 4 last month. BOBBi’s moving vocal is instantly likeable and does exactly as the track’s title suggests as she intimately and conscientiously speaks out on the themes of heartbreak, betrayal, discrimination and then triumph, up against an affecting and tenderly crafted piano arrangement courtesy of Hannie.

As the track develops, the production guided by KALM’s hand becomes bolder, brighter and more cinematic as it embraces breathtakingly cinematic sweeping strings and booming drum patterns to get home the climactic message that hate only wins if we stay silent to it. Powerful stuff.
