Peggy Sue – 'Motorcade'
Dipping their toes into more of a garage-rock sound, London-based indie duo Peggy Sue have put out their first single of the year, and it comes with the news of their upcoming fourth album ‘Vices’ which is due to be released on 21st February.
‘Motorcade’ is a break-up song, told from the personal perspective of Katy Young. Charting the uncomfortable experience of feeling the distance growing between two people: “you tell me that you miss me all the time / I miss you most when you’re right here with me.” Speaking of working out the song with the rest of the band, Katy says: “it just kept getting louder and faster and more powerful, now it’s this burst of energy that we’re terrified of playing live but always love every second of.”
Hopefully the next few months will see Katy and Rosa Slade channelling and working with this new-found energy – which is certainly going to be littered all over the new album – so that when it comes to their headline date at The Dome, in April, there will be a new side to them which will be unveiled onstage.
