Idlewild - 'Dream Variations'

It's been a while since Idlewild graced us and like many agree, they have been missed. So releasing their new album, 'Interview Music' on the 5th April 2019, couldnt come fast enough.

The first single 'Dream Variations', has just been released and takes you on a journey of atmospheric quirky indie bliss. As soon as the track starts you can't help but smile as the riff prepares and peppers you, leading into the main instrumental hook that doesn't let you go. Roddy Woomble's vocal oozes familiarity and beauty, mixing sing along harmonies that sit on that simple but alluring backline.

Lyrically, 'Dream Variations' is a relation to the world today and whereas at times thought provoking, still offer a kindness and branch to hold onto, until your ready to let go when that main coming together of instruments lightly flicks you around the ear. The breakdown in particular offers you the chance to make up your own mind and opinions, utilizing an almost spooky psychedelic melody to change direction and turns your journey into a trip.

Idlewild's first release from their new record is a gleeful introduction to what to expect from 'Interview Music' and I for one cant wait for the drop.
