Madelline - 'Ghost'
Madelline explores social anxiety and loneliness with a chilled twist on soothing new single, ‘Ghost’.
‘Ghost’ is a relaxed and atmospheric track that opens with a downtempo choppy percussive rhythm and ambient synth, providing the song with a blissful old school R&B/ hip hop feeling. Madelline’s gorgoeus vocal is distinctive and soulful; sometimes sounding like sunshine, other times more brooding and serious. Madelline and producer Stefano Pando took a more spontaneous approach to the song’s conception, playing with forward-thinking, chilled, production which gives ‘Ghost‘ a real authenticity as melodic textures and instrumentation flitter in and out of the soundscape.
Madelline describes ‘Ghost’ as “an anthem for embracing solitude” and while it explores the themes of loneliness, social anxiety, feeling misunderstood and isolation (despite being surrounded people) the track offers solace and tranquility. Madelline also has an important message for her listener, “If you feel anxious or lonesome, I hope that ‘Ghost’ comforts you. It’s okay to be a lone wolf, but remember you are never alone with your feelings. Life is about making peace with your journey”.
