Maybird – ‘To You’

Rochester, New York four-piece Maybird play chilled psychedelic roots rock in their latest single, ‘To You’.

‘To You’ is the latest cool bass-driven psychedelic single from Maybird. It has the same feel as The Black Keys most recent material, especially in the fuzzy melodies, and the chorus is very Tame Impala-esque: ‘To you-woo-hoo…’. There’s, for lack of a better word, a tinkly piano in there which makes the whole song feel warm yet melancholic. It’s a strange yet almost euphoric feeling. Josh Netsky’s vocals are almost on the same level as a ‘soft’ take on Bob Dylan (‘Nashville Skyline’ comes to mind). Therefore, if you’re a fan of the band FUR, you’ll love these.

‘To You’ is a cool track for fans of guitar music. A lot of the contemporary guitar bands, particularly the ones I’m loving at the moment, are loud and harsh. But Maybird allow us a breather from that. It’s a great song and perfect for the summer.
