Diamond Thug’s new single ‘Tell Me’ is a gritty indie pop tune that explores the darker side of human suffering from an empathetic perspective.
Lead singer Chantel Van T’s atmospheric and completely alluring vocals floats above layers of chiming guitar, brooding synth-bass and pounding drums which tentatively creep around each other, intending to thrill. While the lyrical theme is profound, Diamond Thug make space for an exciting instrumental break that keeps the tension high but adds a different, therapeutic kind of emotion and atmosphere to the track.
’Tell Me’ is a dramatic, dark and exhilarating song that dances through its melancholy to find catharsis and solidarity, as Chantel Van T explains: ‘Tell Me’ is “an empathetic song, dealing with the acceptance that suffering is a shared experience of all of life, albeit to differing degrees. Through our suffering, we are healed and can offer our healing to others in the form of sharing experiences”.
