EP Review: Sundara Karma - ‘Kill Me’
Sundara Karma’s new EP ‘Kill Me’ showcases their new sonic sound.
The EP opens with eponymous single ‘Kill Me’. The explosive and upbeat track bursts through the speakers, despite the lyrics coursing with self-doubt. This is followed by ‘O Stranger’, which perfectly conveys how the band’s sound are evolving away from modern instrumentation into the experimental electronic.
Earlier this month, the single ‘Artifice’ was released; the track starts softly but gradually builds into an ordered chaos of sonic effects and distorted vocals. On the track, Oscar says: “Artifice is about someone having been in your life and not being in it anymore, but they’ve left a mark that will never be removed…. and being able to make peace with that. The scar may be there forever, but that’s fine because life goes on.”
The EP is the band’s first new music release since their 2019 album ‘Ulfilas Alphabet’ arriving via Chess Club.
