Bristolian singer-songwriter Clara Mann shares debut single ‘I Didn’t Know You Were Leaving Today’ – a masterpiece of grace and wonderfully emotive folk.

To the delicate musings of heartfelt guitars, ‘I Didn’t Know You Were Leaving Today’ showcases a knack for storytelling. Elegant melody lines hug Clara’s intricately poetic lyricism as she reflects on freedom and loneliness. “And when the road gets too much for you, drop me a line. I'll welcome you in arms wide” she sings, her vocals gentle and wistful. It’s easy to imagine her sitting in front of a crackling fireplace, her face illuminated by the dancing flames, telling stories of feeling trapped. Soft fiddles drift in and out of focus, giving the track a dreamy feel that asks you to surrender and let Clara whisk you away.

‘I Didn’t Know You Were Leaving Today’ is Clara’s debut single and gives a first glimpse into her captivating world of folk that we will be able to explore in more depth on an upcoming EP. With intimate soundscapes and intricate lyricism, Clara Mann gives folk a new coat of colour and puts herself on the map as an exciting new artist.
