Communions - 'Splendour'

The dynamic Danish duo of Communions are bringing unfiltered joy with their new single ‘Splendour’.

These two brothers have quite the journey since their self-titled debut EP back in 2015, released while the two were still in school. The road has winded many different ways since, even picking up a few more members along the way, but Communion has gone back to what they know best as the original two-piece.

Communions are certainly the most accessible act to come out of the deeply diverse world that is the Copenhagen music scene, with the brothers effortlessly fusing post punk and fluttery indie which is heavily influenced by the controversial Copenhagen district of Freetown Christiana.

The meaning behind ‘Splendour’ is certainly the opposite to the title, speaking of an unattainable love that possesses a destructive power and that in the end, we come to endure the pain that comes with it. It certainly has been a transformative time for Communions, but the talent and sound haven’t suffered, and we can look forward to a bright future for this duo.
