Bony Man - 'The Bottom'

Icelandic singer songwriter Bony Man releases a slice of smooth melancholy on ‘The Bottom’ .

Bony Man is the project of Guðlaugur Jón Árnason who released his sophisticated debut single, ‘Unforgiven’ in October of last year. Showing off a moodier and fuller sound than its predecessor, ‘The Bottom’ is Bony Man’s second release from his upcoming album, which will be released Spring 2021.

Opening with an affecting and buoyant instrumental, ‘The Bottom’ simmers with a slow burning and highly emotional appeal. Bony Man’s rich and likeable vocal soon joins the track’s crisp, melodic guitar and drum driving rhythms, seeing Bony Man effortlessly draw his listener into his conflicted and emotive storytelling.

As the track develops, Bony Man’s signature fondness for strings makes an appearance, seeing the song glisten and shiver with a glacial charm. Bony Man leaves his listener feeling a chill outside of Winter’s kiss as he laments, “I guess we flew too close to the moon. We’re frozen”.

’The Bottom’ is a retrospective song that weeps a sophisticated sadness, while still remaining warm and upbeat. It’s beautiful and heartfelt in its entirety.
