Freshly formed bedroom pop outfit Love For The Peaches inject some much needed spice into 2020 with bold new single ‘Godfather’.

The brainchild of Millie Duthie and Danny Southwell (both part of alt-rock band Thyla) and producer Josh Harrison, Love For The Peaches is an ambitious lockdown project that sees the trio “soundtrack the Dystopia surrounding them”. New single ‘Godfather’ is an exhilarating journey through changing soundscapes, a sonic fever dream if you will. Carried by a vibrant bassline, the track warps and shapeshifts into hazy formations of fuzzy electronica and tumultuous percussion. “Godfather is an anxious hyper-pop cut about losing control of your mind,“ the band explains. “The character in the song is talking to herself begging for her to take back control. She knows that her anxiety comes from allowing people to think for her. She knows she hasn’t yet found the strength to stand up for her opinions and she’s falling apart internally as each second of her silence rips apart her sense of being.”

Following equally captivating debut single ‘XVI’, ‘Godfather’ is a manifestation of the band’s “they locked us down, so we made some noise” mentality. With cathartic rhythms and infectious hooks, Love For The Peaches is everything you need to close out the year with a dose of excitement and hope for a brighter future.
