Hector Gannet - 'Dead Nag'
Hector Gannet calls out the powers right at the top in their own unique way with the release of their new single ‘Dead Nag’.
The heart at this North Shields collective is Aaron Duff, the leader of the five-piece who have the support of the likes of fellow Geordie Sam Fender. But their tranquil protest music does do the talking at the end of the day and now sees the quintet spreading their wings beyond the North East.
2020 is already looking to be a monumental year, with ‘Dead Nag’ the start of what is expected to be origin of an album project. One thing you can thing you can’t deny Hector Gannet is their unique approach to their craft, whether that be producing a 9-minute masterpiece for their debut single ‘St Aidans’ or dabbling with indie in ‘All Hail, All Glory’, each risk is worth taking and again it’s paid off.
‘Dead Nag’ is beautifully serene sonically, but packs an unexpected punch lyrically, “charged” by current affairs, ‘Dead Nag’ looks to hold the powers to account and the “gamble” that is presented to the common man and how blind faith can impact ordinary lives. ‘Dead Nag’ certainly makes you sit up and listen and is already a classic for the rising star that is Hector Gannet.
‘Dead Nag’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Hector Gannet will support Lanterns On The Lake at Newcastle’s Boiler Shop on April 4th.
