Album Review: The Lottery Winners - 'The Lottery Winners'
The feel-good album of the year has arrived with the new indie darlings The Lottery Winners releasing their long-awaited debut LP.
Coming from humble beginnings, this four-piece have already had quite the journey to get to the release of their self-titled album. Having initially been discovered by the legendary Seymour Stein, it has taking two years of writing, label disputes and taking back control of their own destiny to get to where they are today. But the battle has proven to be worth it with their indie-pop infused anthems seeing them become one of the best new bands in the country.
Sitting down to listen through this album proved to be a very enjoyable experience, with each track as good as the next, whether it’s tropical escape of ‘Hawaii’, the Brit-pop inspired ‘I Don’t Love You’ or the gripping ballad ‘I Know’, there is truly something for everyone on this album to enjoy.
‘The Lottery Winners’ is twelve tracks of fun, leaving you smiling from cheek to cheek long after and is certainly up there to be one of the best and certainly most enjoyable debut albums of the year.
