TV FACE - 'Like Dominoes' — When The Horn Blows

TV FACE are recording and releasing a single on the last Friday of every month this year and April’s release is the explosive ‘Like Dominoes’.

It’s getting harder for new bands to find new ways to release and promote new music. TV FACE, however, have come up with something rather ingenious that actually works. So far, the band known as TV FACE have released ‘Cold Potato Salad’ (January), ‘O Death Is Coming’ (February) and ‘Yarns’ (March). You may think that lockdown might affect the band’s creative output, hinder them or the songs may be inconsistent. But April’s ‘Like Dominoes’ is another great track.

‘Like Dominoes’ opens with screeching delay and reverb-soaked lead guitars with stabbing vocals and a punchy rhythm section, this will wake you up from the tedious routine that COVID has probably brought onto you. Lyrically, it is inspired by the Cold War idea that nation-states would fall to communism (and not by the game or pizza chain). TV FACE also managed to put a video together a music video for the song whilst in lockdown using their mobile phones.

Whilst the song is excellent, ‘Like Dominoes’ is a brilliant statement as to what bands can do to stand out from everyone else and what they can still do during the pandemic. The band known as TV FACE are doing everything right.
