For RUNAH, progression and experimentation is key in cultivating new music. ‘Entropy’ is a smoky and disorientating trip hop inspired offering, seeing RUNAH soundtrack her own undoing and loss of control alongside spiralling, repetitive and sophisticated, looped production.
RUNAH is more present and vulnerable in this offering, shying away from the abstract and surreal themes of her fantasy driven songs to create a song that allows her listener to connect more freely on an intrinsic level.
On the ideas behind the track RUNAH explains, “’Entropy’ is about reflection, learning, unlearning and rebuilding. We vote with our actions and the choices we make.” RUNAH continues, ‘Entropy’ is a word I become fascinated with. My father talked to me about entropy and as with many of our conversations it stayed with me. Entropy; ‘lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.’
A soul-searching song, driven by spunky bass and percussive rhythms, sure to leave you contemplating your own existence on this rotating and rocky terrestrial planet we call, ‘home’.
