AJIMAL - 'I've Known Your Heart'
Newcastle-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist and medical doctor AJIMAL shares elegant ambient Indie Folk on current single, I’ve Known Your Heart‘.
Co-produced with Guy Massey, ‘I’ve Known Your Heart’ is set to stun from the offset. The track introduces itself intimately, seeing AJIMAL’s hushed vocal exposed amidst a swelling and swirling soundscape of ethereal synth, piano and string arrangements that reaches an extraordinary and expansive climax. There’s a real sense of reverence and loveliness within both the atmosphere of the track, and its poetic lyricism, as AJIMAL confides, ‘I’ve loved your heart for as long as it’s been beating”. This becomes somewhat of a beautiful mantra on the song’s gentle outro.
On the ideas behind the track AJIMAL explains, “This is one of the first songs I wrote for this album and the first one Guy and I recorded together. It’s about noticing the tiniest change in someone and reading into its meaning. There's a line in the film, Dogville, where one of the characters vouches for another one and says, 'I've known his heart just about as long as it's been beating'. I loved the intimacy of that. To be able to record it at Studio 1 in AIR was amazing - it's hard not to be awestruck by the light, history and beauty of that room. “
’I’ve Known Your Heart’ is taken from AJIMAL’s current album, ‘As It Grows Dark / Light’ and is accompanied by an animated music video directed by Alex Moy which premieres August 20th. The visualization of the song will be used as the basis for AJIMAL’s live London headline show at Pickle Factory on 3rd December.
