Thyla – 'Fade'
Brighton four-piece Thyla follow up on critically acclaimed EP ‘Everything At Once’ with striking new single ‘Fade’.
Known for their sparkling pop sensations, Thyla strike again with yet another cannonball tune. To a backdrop of glorious guitar lines and explosive beats, ‘Fade’ captures the daunting feeling of growing up. “As you grow up you realise things aren’t as they seem,” vocalist Millie Duthie says. “The more you learn the more you realise you have to learn, and it can be a really painful experience taking off the blinkers of your youth. It’s hard to come to terms with the fact that a lot of your drive is based on a hedonistic attitude. Fade’s about waking up to some ugly truths about your personal life and development. How strong are your relationships really and where are you headed if you stay on this trajectory?” Millie’s soaring vocals rise above her expressive lyricism with a force that makes them instantly recognisable.
A glittering pop anthem, ‘Fade’ marks a new high for the band and sees them digging their heels in. 2019’s ‘Everything At Once’ was a phenomenal start but this ride has only just begun.
