’Brink’ is a composition that Merz started working on in 2019 and was initially supposed to feature on an independent feature film which never ended up being created. But Merz revisted the song explaining, “While cleaning up my work space I rediscovered the project and began to realize that the music alone had a strong story to tell. I steadily kept working on it day and night, polishing it, roughening it back to its fundamental elements and repeating that process over and over again until it felt right.”
