Apollo Junction - 'On The Ropes'
Apollo Junction are coming into 2021 all guns blazing and leaving us gasping for breath with their explosive new single ‘On The Ropes’.
This five-piece don’t seem to know the definition of a break, having had their foot down for the last 18 months or so ever since the release of their debut album ‘Mystery’ in 2019. The Leeds natives are already looking to what is next for them having garnered much recognition in their hometown and further afield, with ‘On The Ropes’ being the first glimpse of what is a much anticipated second album.
This new single is really a statement of intent, these Yorkshire boys aren’t here to make up the numbers and that is clear right throughout with this quintet becoming known for their explosive blend of synths and classic Britpop.
Right from the off, you’re being prodded with these synths which wouldn’t be out of place on a dance track, but that is beautifully tied together with nostalgic vocals that together bring an infectious energy. Seeing such a young band not only find their niche but nailed down their sound so effortlessly is something to behold and ‘On The Ropes’ is the start of what could be a truly champion year for Apollo Junction.
