Grace Gaustad – 'No You To Me'
Rising singer-songwriter Grace Gaustad shares her radiant new single ‘No You To Me’.
‘No You To Me’ is heart-breaking and comforting at the same time. Gracefully skating on a pool of baby blue piano lines, Grace’s outstanding vocals are calm yet pleading as she reflects on a faded relationship. She explains: “’No You To Me’ is about that tendency to always go back to this one person you were in a relationship with at some point. The song refers to all the really pretty people, with their incredible lifestyles and ridiculous traits, but for some reason you just can’t shake this one person ‘cause you love them. In your head you find yourself looking for pieces of them in everyone you meet. Even though there are a million other people who are probably better for you, the heart wants what it wants, and you can’t change that.” It’s a tragic truth that not only colours the track’s bittersweet production, it’s ever present in Grace’s heartfelt lyricism - “Wish my heart could change now but you’re still the way out, and anyone can try but there’s no vacancy ‘cause they’re no you to me.”
Following synthy single ‘Out Of Time’, ‘No You To Me’ is the second offering taken from Grace’s upcoming EP ‘Ater Dark I’. With two heavily contrasting soundscapes hinting at the wide range of Grace Gaustad’s sonic wanderings, the EP is most definitely a record to look forward to this spring and may just be the one to put her ahead in the game.
