Baby Queen – 'Dover Beach'
Everyone’s favourite new addition to pop royalty, Baby Queen, shares dreamy new single ‘Dover Beach’.
One year after her phenomenal start into the pop world, Baby Queen (aka Bella Latham) has long squashed any doubts of not living up to the hype. New single ‘Dover Beach’ once again showcases her vocal prowess and lyrical genius.
Wrapped into an abundance of catchy hooks and heady rhythms, ‘Dover Beach’ is Bella’s most upbeat offering to date –if cursing the overwhelming feeling of infatuation counts as a reluctant version of leaning into happiness. ”I was kind of pissed that when I went to look at the beach, all I could think about was this person,” Bella explains. “Hence the lyric ‘you stole the view of Dover Beach’. It's another internal struggle with my own insecurities and a sort of acceptance of the fact that I can't escape my daydreams of this person, even if I go to a different place." Raw and relatable as all Baby Queen tracks, ‘Dover Beach’ finds a magnetic balance between honest introspection and the soaring euphoria of A* pop choruses. An ideal track for dance therapy.
Following previous singles ‘These Drugs’ and ‘Raw Thoughts’, ‘Dover Beach’ parts the broody clouds of debut EP ‘Medicine’ to let some sunshine in. A mood change that seems to be the theme of her upcoming projects, as Bella explains: “[‘Medicine’] was the introduction to the essay, where I said all my points and belief. Now I have the freedom to write love songs without something thinking I’m vapid and shallow!”
