Fatherson - 'Dive'
There is no way of getting enough of Fatherson’s infectious alternative indie, seductive vocals and hard-hitting soundscapes! The Glaswegian trio have just shared the video for new single ‘Dive’.
The single was recorded at RAK Studios in London with producer Seph Marziano, who previously worked with Hayley Williams and Mumford & Sons. ‘Dive’ showcases the band’s progression into more intoxicating pop songs that are built on surprising hooks and soft edges, a sound driven by shimmering synths and hooking vocals. Its video is a journey on its own, showing ‘taking a chance’ in the form of many different scenarios with people like you and me in the spotlight. The video that accompanies ‘Dive’ is set in rural Scotland and tells the story of a cult, Fatherson are taken in by a charismatic ‘King’ and devote themselves entirely to him, “But be careful what you wish for, things aren’t always as they seem…”
Fatherson, however, are exactly as they seem, a passionate and inspiring three piece that bring reflective pop rock songs inspired by personal memories and experiences. About the single, frontman Ross says: “‘Dive’ is a song about taking chances and diving into a relationship head first. You never know if it’s going to work unless you dive in with both feet. And even if it doesn’t work out you know that you gave it all you had.” Its driving soundscape translates the song’s message perfectly and encourages the listener to do exactly what the song is about; to dive in!
‘Dive’ follows the release of ‘Honest To God’ and both singles are taken from the upcoming album, the first in three years! ‘Normal Fears’ is due for release on the 25th of February and will be released on Easy Life Records. It is promising to be the opener of a new chapter for Fatherson, a playful one, a fresh and musical start and I can’t wait to see where this chapter will take them.
