The Faim - 'The Hills'

The Faim waste no time in showing 2022 what they’re made of with their striking new single, ‘The Hills’.

Australian alt-outfit The Faim are making their return with yet another adrenaline-infused anthem, kicking the year off in the best way possible! The follow up to last year’s comeback single ‘Ease My Mind’, these lads definitely know how to prick up the ears of their listeners, despite not releasing new music in over a year prior. The wait is finally over!

‘The Hills’ is one of those tracks that wreak musical contagion. All it takes is that one listen and, ‘Boom!’ it’s cemented in your skull with no chance of escape. Either that or you have it playing on a continuous loop for hours like I’ve had - there is no other alternative. Packed with a flurry of infectious qualities, the track is overflowing with intensity and a profound magnetism.

Embracing the beauty of nostalgia, ‘The Hills’ offers so much more than being just another alt-rock banger, as guitarist and songwriter Sam Tye explains: “’The Hills’ is a song which touches on anxiety and the desire to go back to that place where you can reconnect with yourself and take a breath. For Josh and I, the Perth hills is one of these places and after two years of being on the road, coming home gave us a moment to reflect on the sometimes-overwhelming experiences you have whilst touring. I hope this song helps people find that place for themselves.”

The release comes fully equipped with stunning visuals and all. Showcasing a stylistic representation of life inside of the band, the accompanying music video flaunts the aesthetic allure of The Faim as they star beside a grainy sequence of backdrops. Showcasing the picturesque footage of the beguiling Perth landscape, the video pays homage to the band’s beloved homeland, touching on the song’s moving sentiment. ‘The Hills’ is the most recent release from The Faim’s forthcoming LP, which is set to be released later this year.
