Will Linley - 'Last Call'

Following the release of his debut EP ‘kill all my feelings’, ‘Last Call’ is Will Linley’s much-awaited new single, encapsulating the euphoria of young love.

Will Linley wasted no time in establishing himself as a highly promising upcoming artist, with his first single ‘miss me (when you’re gone)’ reaching number 1 on Apple Music in Cape Town and achieving Gold status. Having spent much of the pandemic writing music to combat isolation, Will started uploading clips of his music to TikTok in 2020. The South African singer-songwriter quickly became known for his candid lyricism and infectious pop beats, gaining him praise from the likes of NYLON, 1883 Magazine, and more.

Earlier this year, Will released his 5-track long EP ‘kill all my feelings’, which centred around the 21-year-old’s experiences navigating love and heartbreak. The genre-defying body of work was met with overwhelming support from fans, as well as critical appraise. Following the success of his EP, Will has had a busy summer, with sets at numerous festivals, including a main stage slot at Rocking The Daisies festival, and Europe tour dates with Matthew Mole. Since October, the young artist has been supporting One Republic on tour, where he has performed his upbeat heartbreak songs to audiences across South Africa.

New single ‘Last Call’ has been described as the start of a new chapter for the rising star. With clips of the record amassing almost 3 million views on TikTok before its release, ‘Last Call’ has quickly become one of Will’s most eagerly anticipated songs. The party anthem captures the excitement of new love, as Will nostalgically recounts how a carefree night out ended with him falling in love. Explaining the meaning behind the track, Will states:

“‘Last Call’ is a song that encapsulates the feeling of falling in love. It is born from a place of nostalgia, romance; ‘rolling credits end scene’ energy! It’s a song people can dance too, listen to on long road trips, or just in the shower.”

With new music in the works, alongside festival appearances for next summer, it seems that we can expect to hear a lot more from Will in 2022.
