Bleach Lab - 'Obviously'
Dreamy, hypnotic and gentle are the best three words to capture the essence of Bleach Lab’s newest single titled ‘Obviously’.
Released as a teaser for their third EP If you Only Feel It Once, which will be available on all major platforms on November 4th, the single makes for an exciting showcase of their never-ending talent. Having recently signed to Nettwerk Records, Bleach Lab have been actively performing a variety of festivals this summer and have a great few headline shows ahead.
In terms of ‘Obviously’, it is the type of track that for certain makes your life feel like a movie. It’s a transcendent piece of musical artistry that has a mesmeric and anaesthetic effect on the listener. It is much alike to their previous releases such as Real Thing’ and ‘Violet Light’, where the beauty of the release is within its simplicity. Frontperson Jenna Kyle's vocals shine through the woozy musical backdrop like the song from a siren.
The lyricism is hard-hitting, vulnerable and emotional with the focus being on the aftermath of an unexpected breakup, detailing the vast array of emotions that one feels in this situation. Speaking on the lyrics, Jenna stated that “This track addresses the person your partner has left you for, you’re bitter, hurt and rightly or wrongly directing your aggression towards them instead. However in the chorus, it is a bit of a conversation with yourself, self-reflection and realisation that it doesn’t really matter what you say or do, your former partner still loves them either way.”
Bleach Lab know how to perfect a single, making a perfect release for listening to over and over again.
