Introducing #248 - Ella Tiritiello
After impressing us all with her debut track ‘Say Something’, Ella Tiritiello is back with her second single ‘Take It Personal’.
Take it Personal comes as a reminder that honesty is always the best policy. Sharing more Ella explained:‘The inspiration came from how you often say to people to not take it personal and “it’s not you, it’s me”, but maybe sometimes it’s better to just keep it straight.’
Despite only just turning 16, Ella Tiritiello has already put herself firmly on the map. With her debut single ‘Say Something’ already at over a quarter of a million streams and a knock-out live performance at the prestigious ‘Brilliant Minds’, this year has already been a big one for the rising teenager.
She took a moment to talk to us about her music.
Hey there Ella - how are you? So your track ‘Take It Personal’ is out now - can you tell us what it is about?
Hi WTHB, I’m very well thanks!
The inspiration for ‘Take It Personal’ came from how you often try to not hurt others feelings by saying stuff like “it’s not you, it’s me”, when that many of the times are not even true. ‘Take It Personal’ is saying the exact opposite.
Where are you from and what are your favourite things to do there?
I’m from a small town called Kristianstad, in the south of Sweden. I just started high school, so most of the days I spend in school. When I’m off school I mostly hang out with my friends and try to be as much as possible in the studio.
What are the key influences when it comes to your music?
I would say Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish have influenced me a lot. Taylor Swift was a huge part of me growing up and I think she’s a great songwriter which I strive to be as well. Billie Eilish I’ve been listening to since the start and she’s a real inspiration for me. Especially since she also started at such a young age as me.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
Hmm that’s a hard question. As a new artist I would probably say I’m still finding my sound. I try to sing songs and deliver them in such a way that the listener really feels something when they listen to it. That’s probably the most important to me – that the listeners feel something.
Now the track is out there - what next for you?
More music to be released! In the beginning of next year, I will release my debut EP which I’m so excited for.
