Hungry - 'On Sight'
Manchester based group Hungry smash out their second single of the year in the shape of ‘On Sight’, a track that boasts all of the group’s qualities in just a few short minutes.
The band have been kicking up some fuss of late, with relentless efforts to out their name on the map. Having released the single ‘The Jig’ in May of this year, the group have found themselves in a strong position to unleash more music, as well as line up some live dates.
The previous single’s reception was outstanding, with BBC Radio 1 Future Artists taking a keen interest in the rockers.
Perfectly put, the group’s new single ‘On Sight’ has been described as “where fury meets fun”. This is just the most accurate description. The single kicks off instantly, wasting no time. Singer-guitarist frontman Jacob Peck takes centre stage with an emphatic performance on both instrumental and vocal fronts. The rest of the group effortlessly match his quality with some impressive displays.
The drums of Stan Rankin, guitars of Peck and Kit Thomas, and bass of Jas Malig are almost reminiscent of that early Arctic Monkeys’ sound, yet Hungry seem to add their very distinctive stamp of originality. The track is unmistakeable, and unforgettable. The raw sounds of crunchy guitars and driving drums make for an angsty, angry and quite-frankly epic track.
The lyrics are really something to look at in greater depth. The frontman explained: “’On Sight’ attempts to paint the character of those who turn against their moral views for profit. Whilst doing harm and working against progressive change, people often still believe they are doing a good thing.” This really important notion is perfectly explained to listeners with a great track.
‘On Sight’ is sure to wow listeners. It’s a track that grasps attention right from the off. Hungry are a serious outfit to look out for as they continue to take the music world by storm with powerful tracks seemingly in abundance.
