Sol Child - 'Natalie's Melody
Sol Child an indie pop singer, songwriter and producer, brings you her latest single ‘Natalie’s Melody’.
The Zimbabwean-born British singer, songwriter and producer is releasing her second single, following the success of her debut song ‘For You’ released last year. A musician who is known for their writing skills, as well as beautiful melodies, has created a song inspired by the feels of vintage 90s to early 2000s brit pop.
Throughout Sol Childs's childhood she was exposed to music from the likes of Oasis, Elton John and Boy George all helping to intensify her love for music. Growing up in a Christian household also impacted her music, listening to Don Moen, Charles Charamba and Nicole C Mullen as well as finding influences whilst attending church. Including Bethel Music, Hillsong, Tye Tribbett and Kirk Franklin and her biggest inspiration Mali Music. Sol Childs's only taste of secular music whilst growing up was an album by the incredible Phil Collins. Sol Child later discovered her love for bands like the 1975 and Flor which led to her love for all things indie pop, rock as well as the alternatives scene as a whole.
The Church has had a huge impact on her love for music, whilst sharing a passion for music with others within the church led to Sol Child discovering ‘Lost Boys EP’ by Shakka which changed her relationship with music forever, an album which was the first that she listened to back to back. That is still a huge part of her life to this day.
‘Natalie's melody’ is a song Sol Child wrote to herself. The younger version of herself as well as the teenage and present version. A song about the journey to accepting who you are and that you do not need to change yourself to fit society’s view of perfection.
“Yes this single is dedicated to me but it should also be dedicated to yourself, if you don’t fall in love with yourself you will always chase others to prove that you are worthy of love when you are already love. You should always remember that you are generations worth of love in the making, that should never be replaced with the ‘love’ of someone who only sees you as someone to pass the time with.” - Sol Child on ‘Natalie’s Melody’.
‘Natalie's melody’ is an amazing track, a song that will refresh you. It will leave you wanting to listen again and again, feeling inspired just like Sol Child was after her first listen to Shakka’s ‘Lost Boys’.
Sol Child’s latest single ‘Natalies Melody’ release date is the 18th of March, it's defiantly one you do not want to miss.
