Nell Mescal - 'In My Head'

Ireland’s hottest new talent Nell Mescal is releasing her anticipated third single, ‘In My Head’ via LAB Records.

Nell Mescal is a 19-year-old singer and songwriter from Maynooth in Kildare, Ireland. She has been singing her whole life and performing in groups and choirs for as long as she can remember. Nell Mescal began writing music when she was just 13 years old and during the pandemic took the time to focus on her music career.

Since leaving school, Nell has now moved to North London, surrounding herself with other young creatives and kindred spirits. Many of the people who Nell has surrounded herself with are helping her discover what she is capable of and collaborating with her. Another rising star is music producer Steph Marziano who has produced all three of Nell’s singles so far.

The new single, ‘In My Head’ comes hot on the heels of indie thriller ‘Homesick’ and her jaw dropping debut ‘Graduating’. Both tracks catapulted Nell into a whirlwind six months including her live TV performance on Ireland’s The Late, Late Late Show and her first ever headline tour. Nell has been tipped as one to watch this year by The Times, NME, Rolling Stone, Hot Press and more.

On ‘In My Head’ Nell Mescal says that the song is about searching for a love you had in the past and the feeling that you’ll never find it again, so you seek comfort in relationships that are emotionally draining and one sided. She continues that “It’s about thinking that it must always be your fault and eventually leading to resentment towards the other person. We all have that person we look back on and miss, this track captures the moment they slip into your head”.

Even though this is only Nell Mescal’s third official release, her honest and compelling song writing has quickly connected an ever-growing fanbase. With no sign of slowing down and a busy live schedule which continues to build from special shows supporting Birdy next month to slots at The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, All Points Easy and more to be announced.
