Album Review: Max Jury - 'Avenues'
Max Jury is a talented, American singer-songwriter who is releasing his third album ‘Avenues’ on the 31st of March. Max Jury has just released a single ‘Peace of Mind’ an indie-rock tune that was co-written by London Grammar’s Dan Rothman. Max himself has said that ‘‘Peace of Mind’ is a song about trying to keep yourself together and find some sanity in an increasingly crazy world’. He said ‘It's about being overwhelmed by everything that has been unfolding and how disconnected and individualistic our society has become.’
In 2020, during the pandemic, Max Jury started to work on the album ‘Avenues’. Stuck In North Carolina, he used a home studio as well as help from his friend Stacy Harden to start writing his album. Before, later travelling to London, connecting with London Grammars Dan Rothman, after connecting through Instagram. Max also began to Work with the incredible grammy award-winning Jimmy Hogarth a producer who has worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Suzanne Vega as well as Poaolo Nutini.
“Avenues is the album I’ve always wanted to make.” Max explains. “It’s the closest I’ve come to being my true self as an artist, and it re-inspired me to keep pursuing this whole music thing. It’s about self-reflection and discovery, it’s about rebirth, and it’s about not giving up on a dream. Max Jury Rose to the music scene in 2016, after the release of his first single ‘Numb’ which became a success across the world, with over 40 million streams to date. He later released his first self-titled album ‘Max Jury’. Before releasing his second album in 2019 ‘Modern World’. An album which campaign was affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘Avenues’ is the perfect album with Ten Tracks, as well as a feature from the incredible Delilah Montagu, a British 21-year-old singer songwriter. ‘Avenues’ is an Album that will leave you hypnotised. It is a truly immersive experience, an album with themes of guitars floating throughout, beautiful raw vocals as well as perfect melodies. ‘Avenues’ is an album that you will reach for every day, taking you on a journey of tranquillity, leaving you calm and content.
