Sundara Karma - 'Friends of Mine'

Sundara Karma return after a lengthy absence with the brilliant new single ‘Friends of Mine’.

The group have become known, over the years, for their big guitar riffs and catchy, sing-along Indie hits. They have established themselves as a fan favourite at festivals and in the world of UK Indie-rock. Fans will certainly be glad to see the back of a period without new material.

The latest single ‘Friends of Mine’ has everything you could possibly want and more from a Sundara Karma song. It’s so cleverly constructed with the band, in its entirety, working as a tight unit to gift fans what is truly a brilliant single. It has a heavy reliance on a repeated guitar riff that is so uniquely Sundara Karma. They seem to have nailed the art of writing this style of track. The type of track that'll have crowds bouncing in festival tents and venues all over.

The latest release seems to be the marking of a new era, with lead vocalist Oscar Pollock saying that “’Friends of Mine’ is just a taste of what’s to come.” If this is the case, listeners are in for a treat as the track oozes coolness and a real feel of authenticity.

The frontman also went on to explain the origins of the track, stating that it’s an ode to friendship and sounds reminiscent of what they were doing on the first album. The track really does have this feel of friendship, you can almost imagine belting it at the top of your lungs alongside your best mates. Sundara Karma have absolutely smashed it out of the park with this one.

As a re-introduction to the world of music, ‘Friends of Mine’ is the perfect choice. It’s the ideal number to draw attention back to the band, since it really feels like a track that fans can get behind.  A song that is so authentically Sundara Karma, ‘Friends of Mine’ will have people taken over with excitement ahead of further new material.
