PAWS - 'One Nation Under Dog'

A new and soaring alt rock track was released by PAWS, their latest ‘One Nation Under Dog’ comes with a characterful lyric video!

Fast paced and rocking, rolling, driven by strong vocals and a guitar- and drum-roll-driven soundscape, Scottish alt rock outfit PAWS’ new single ‘One Nation Under Dog’ is taken from their self-titled upcoming album which will be out next month. Along with the announcement of the album comes a UK co-headline tour with Worries, which sees both bands travel all across the UK!

The alternative rock band that goes by the name of PAWS releases soft pop rock that is close to the bone and focuses on political subjects, speaking their mind without beating around the bush. Their sound is a raw one, rough around the edges and without any frills, given that fact listeners that are looking for well-polished rock are in the wrong place. But if you’re looking for a song talking about how the world is losing its grip on reality, “as we all scramble for keys to escape the capitalist cage”, you are most certainly in the right place.

‘One Nation Under Dog’ consists of power chords and lifting lead lines, on the song, Philip John Taylor said: “‘One Nation Under Dog’ is rooted in my fears for the future and feeling helpless; climate change, how we all interact with each other socially whilst tech advancement and social expectation in that world ramps up and on.  The title isn’t some big statement or anything. We just like the play on words for such a big statement.”

The building blocks of the song had been marked in a folder for ages before the band got together and finally finished it. The song is an undeniably PAWS-track that would have sat well on any of their previous records, a sign of a strong band and sound. This one, though, is due to appear on the self-titled upcoming album which also houses previously released single ‘Disenchanted’, the upcoming album will be released on evergreen coloured vinyl as a deluxe LP with a 28-page zine, it will also be released on CD, cassette, and of course digitally. The zine that comes with the deluxe LP will showcase behind the scenes photos and artwork and showcases the band’s creativity in more than one way.
