Feral Family - 'Sold'
Alternative punk outfit Feral Family are back with the release of their thrilling new single ‘Sold’. We were first sold on the band when they performed in Newcastle in 2019 for local promoter Pillar Artists, and ‘Sold’ proves they’ve still got… It!
The brooding and intense new track is a fantastic example of what drives the post punk band’s sound and what made us get hooked on them. They create a captivating sound for fans of The Blinders and Interpol, and anyone else who’ll listen. ‘Sold’ will make an appearance on the band’s debut album ‘Without Motion’ and is a calculated rock’n’roll track with thunderous drums and mesmerising vocals driving it forward. ‘Sold’ is a step up from their previous material, ready for the stadium stages with its grand and theatrical soundscape and echoing guitar fills.
Jamie Lowe’s vocals are at the midst of the mix and pull their listeners’ into ‘Sold’s story like no other. On their new single and the story behind it, Lowe said: “‘Sold’ is based on life being taken over by work, it quickly gets to a point in your day to day where working to live becomes living to work, and I think it’s one that many people can relate to.”
Dark, deep, and brutally honest, Feral Family take all great elements of punk and rock music and bring them together in a sound that is smoothly produced without sounding too slick. ‘Sold’ is an invitation into the day-to-day life of a band with nothing to lose and united in their determination to break the shackles of conformity, on their debut album they bring that message in the form of eleven songs with an intensity fitting of the band’s name.
Feral Family are what their name suggests and hail from the East Coast of Yorkshire, but are clearly outgrowing their hometown, heading out on tour in February, seeing most UK cities to promote their debut album, fanatic punk sound and incredible live performance.
