Martial Arts - 'Warsaw'

Manchester based five-piece Martial Arts send out an unmissable message with their debut single ‘Warsaw’.

The five-piece have drummed up a great deal of interest and attention from their successful outings to some of Manchester’s smaller-sized, but widely renowned music venues. The group have displayed their talents to crowds in their adopted hometown and have even begun to take on other cities. One of their notable excursions saw them take on the capital, where they performed for So Young at The Social. Very rarely do you see a group capture the interest of so many people before even one track is made available to the public. There is something special about Martial Arts…

‘Warsaw’ is the nominated track to kick off the catalogue of the group, and it is sure to have listeners gripped from the get-go.

It wastes no time and kicks off with a crunchy guitar riff which is quickly engulfed by a thudding bass line and huge drum sounds. Listeners’ first available example of the band’s sound is incredible. They achieve a mysterious sound that ranges from suspense to all-out punk. Lead vocalist Jim offers a wowing performance, displaying a real vocal talent. His voice is raw and exciting.

Jim is joined-in the band- by guitarists Matty and Browny, bassist Jude and drummer Tom. Together they combine to deliver suspenseful verses and full throttle choruses, leaving Martial Arts with an unforgettable debut single.

The band have stated that: “Warsaw’ was written resisting over analysis to grasp a more genuine and unaltered end result. It’s only possible while momentarily feeling ourselves in a moment of doubt.”

The track feels free and direct. Martial Arts have more than achieved their aims of avoiding over analysis. ‘Warsaw’ is straight to the point, no introduction necessary.

Martial Arts really are an exciting prospect, and it seems certain that they will gather even more attention as ‘Warsaw’ enters the world…

The group will undoubtedly perform the single at their upcoming live shows across London, Manchester and Sheffield. Don’t miss what Martial Arts get up to next.
