Album Review: Fatale Furylax - 'Delphæ'
French music collective De la…je l’espère invites Fatale Furylax to orchestrate their fourth collaborative album, ‘Delphæ’, which merges nightclub couture with atmospheric synth wave to formulate a collection of innovative electronic tracks. As art director and curator of ‘Delphæ’, Fatale Furylax takes it upon herself to reserve the 10-track album for female or gender nonconforming artists. The collaborative album not only explores an evolutionary style of modern electronica, but it also provides a platform for lesser-known artists to experiment and express their musical style.
Traversing from the hypnotism of Rafting to the subdued mystery of DalidaCarnage, listening to ‘Delphæ’ offers a transformative experience through hearty electro-drum staples and bliss ambience. The De la…je l’espère project provides an exciting exploration of the underground Parisian electronic scene and inspires bold feats of musical creativity. The ‘Delphæ’ experience that Fatale Furylax provides showcases a unique ability to bask in shared artistic passion through the De la…je l’espère project.
Comprised primarily of these Aphex Twin experimentations, ‘Delphæ’ also doesn’t shy away from tracks with harsher music compositions. ‘Birds Of Paradise’ by Goldie B takes D&B basslines to curate an electrifying energy, and ‘Dancing in Armour’ by Rumina provides the industrial noise that completes the album as a well-rounded showcase of electronic expertise. Fatale Furylax expertly produces the fourth volume of De la…je l’espère in making it equally a ‘starter pack’ for electronica fans and a pioneering collaboration for up-and-coming DJs across the scene.
‘Delphæ’ provides a hypnotic experience of ambient electronica that should excite fans of the genre for future collaborative projects under De la…je l’espère. As a celebration of unity and art curation, this electronic album is both inspiring and educational for young musicians. You can listen to the album now via Spotify or Soundcloud.
