Oral Habit - 'Garage Frock'
Brighton-based trio Oral Habit delve deeper into psych chaos on new single, alongside debut EP announcement
Just coming off a month packed with live shows which included playing the illustrious Shacklewell Arms in London and a few local festivals, Oral Habit followed up with brand new single “Garage Frock”, their second single off the upcoming EP of the same name.
Packed with lively bursts of radiant garage spirit, “Garage Frock” is a refreshing and innovative take on the genre, with its echoing awry vocals and dazzling waves of guitar chaos channeling an energy reminiscent of some of John Dwyer’s best work.
The bursting, bulky rhythm section only elevates the song even higher, with an engrossing final minute which puts on full display the group’s ability to create mayhem out of nowhere, despite only having three members.
Combined with their March single release “Sauerkraut”, which will also be part of their upcoming EP, this looks set to be a wild, unabating exploration of the garage psych sound.
Garage Frock releases on the 11th of July, including a limited edition cassette run from Manchester tape-label Sour Grapes, who have previously worked with the likes of Wax Head, YAANG, and SLAP RASH.
Alongside this they also announced some UK in-store and headline dates for September, so be sure to catch one of their vibrant live sets near you.
