National Opera - 'Even Then'
Leicester trio National Opera bring their own unique blend of electronic indie with latest single 'Even Then'.
The track sees the band channel their burning hope - an ode to reflection and bliss. While being fused together with the bands signature sound of pulsating electronics, mediative drums and euphoric guitar licks. Based on his own recent experiences dealing with the idea of life and existence, vocalist Jack Cahill delivers lyrics that prophesise an impending collapse - but he does not look at that collapse with fear or anguish, he looks with a sense of peace.
Cahill says "The concept of mortality against the infinite is terrifying but also fascinating, and mortality in itself is beautiful, life is imperfect. A lot of my lyrics are about my own fears in some way or another, and Even Then is the same in that sense, but it tries to face that fear with courage and calm."
National Opera started out as a writing project towards the start of 2022, with no name, no plan and just one thing in mind: write music that they’d listen to themselves, and produce it all themselves.
