The Last Dinner Party - 'Let's Do It Again'
The Last Dinner Party Share New Single ‘Lets Do It Again’, Taken From War Child’s ‘HELP(2)’ Charity Album
As theatrical and whimsical as ever, the track showcases the band at their best. Bringing together thick, classic-rock-esque guitar tones, confessional, cathartic lyricism and emotionally rich delivery comes together in all its glittering splendour.
Capturing both a raw authenticity but also a shimmering glam rock flare, the track is clever in its musicality. Opening with a picked harp and distant shuffling snare, the track introduces the poetic, expressive vocal melodies, which dance and almost battle the adjacent lead guitar line - a stylistic decision which is both unsettling and yet enticing. As the song unfolds, the chords thicken with the addition of bass and piano, before flowing into a waltzing pre-chorus and then a galloping chorus, highlighting the band’s theatricality, sharp lyricism, and effortless, yet unforced musical sophistication.
Following the second chorus, the track undergoes another rhythmic shift as the key changes with remarkable fluidity, propelling the momentum toward a driving, high-energy climax. It encapsulates the very essence of the band's identity, evoking the sensation of being at one of their live shows: from the floating, ethereal dips of the track to the electrifying intensity of watching the band sprint across the stage during its most explosive moments.
Talking about the track and the charity album as a whole, the band says: “It’s such an honour to be included on this record for a cause that is so close to our hearts. The song is about the endless carousel of being in a relationship you know you shouldn’t be in, but giving in to the inexorable tug of returning every time you leave. We’d like to say a huge thank you to War Child for asking us to be a part of the project and to James Ford for producing us, it was such a joy to work with him again!”
‘Let’s Do It Again!’ follows recent releases taken from the ‘HELP(2)’ record, including ‘Opening Night’ by Arctic Monkeys and ‘Flags’ by Damon Albarn, Grian Chatten & Kae Tempest.

“HELP(2) is more than an album. It’s a powerful example of what can happen when the music industry comes together around a shared purpose. It has united a diverse group of artists and creatives in support of War Child’s vital work with children affected by the devastating impacts of war”, Rich Clarke, Head of Music at War Child UK explains. “We are immensely grateful to all the artists and teams who have donated their voices, talent and time to support our mission to ensure that no child is caught up in conflict zones. We hope this record not only raises vital funds, but also awareness of the urgent need to turn compassion into action and do more to protect children living through war.”
